和紙に、表裏両面から滲みを施したもの。
紙は平面ではない。立体であり、物質である。
表から浸みた色と裏から浸みた色が、紙の中で混ざり合い、意図を超えた景色を作り出す。
また、滲み止めを施したことで、滲みの変化は更に複雑化した。
日常生活で使う規制物であっても、美術作品に変換することは可能である。
以前、はがきを色水に浸けて数か月放置した作品と比べ、ここでは色を加える関係だけではなく、絵を描く感覚を解き放った。
何より魅力的だったのは、何気ない日常物に手を加える自由な「軽み」だった。
This piece is made from washi paper, with bleeding applied to both the front and back.
Paper is not flat. It is three-dimensional and material.
The colors that soak in from the front and the colors that soak in from the back mix together within the paper, creating a scene that goes beyond imagination.
The application of a bleeding-proof coating also makes the changes in the bleeding even more complex.
Even everyday objects can be transformed into works of art.
Compared to a previous work in which postcards were immersed in colored water and left for several months, this work was not just about adding color, but also about unleashing the sense of painting.
What was most appealing was the free “wit” of tweaking an ordinary everyday object.
